How to sign

Use Dominant 1-hand, palm down. The base or passive hand is Non-dominant horizontal flat-B, palm down: boat base. Set the boat with its bow away from the signer. Place the index at the forward endpoint. Make one short forward point along the boat axis, away from the signer. Hold the index at the forward endpoint; do not substitute the body-part sign NOSE. Establish the boat facing away from the signer. Point to its forward end and make a short forward point. This means the boat's front, not the body-part sign NOSE.
