Figure-eight stopper knot

A stopper knot that prevents a line running out of a block.

How to sign

Use Dominant 1-hand: index traces the pattern. The base or passive hand is Non-dominant hand may hold the rope locus. After fingerspelling on first use and establishing KNOT, place the index at the rope locus. Trace one small horizontal figure-eight, then compress the trace into the knot location. Hold a compact stopper knot; do not extend a long rope path. Fingerspell the technical name. Use the KNOT sign, then trace a small horizontal figure-eight with the dominant index at the rope locus.
