At the heart of the SL96 Asymmetric lies a revolutionary concept: asymmetry as a design philosophy rather than compromise. By retaining the gangway solely on the starboard side and relocating the port-side passage to the superstructure roof, Sanlorenzo liberates approximately 10 square meters of interior volume—space traditionally sacrificed to circulation. This isn't merely an exercise in novelty; it's a fundamental rethinking of how a motor yacht of this scale can serve her owners. The result is a flybridge motor yacht that offers unprecedented interior breadth, enhanced natural light, and remarkable flexibility in how spaces can be configured and used. The fiberglass hull, certified to CE Category A standards for open ocean passages, accommodates up to 16 guests across four cabins, while the twin-engine configuration delivers a spirited 28-knot top speed with a modest 1.90-meter draft. Exteriors and overall layout come from the drawing boards of Bernardo Zuccon, working in close collaboration with Sanlorenzo's engineering team to refine the asymmetrical concept first introduced on the larger SL102. Laura Sessa's interior design capitalizes on the unconventional architecture, creating living spaces that feel expansive and connected to the surrounding seascape. The design emerged from an original concept by automotive designer Chris Bangle, then developed and refined specifically for the marine environment. This asymmetric configuration creates new perspectives—both literal and experiential. Vantage points shift, sight lines open up, and the relationship between interior and exterior becomes more fluid.
