Solaris Power Yachts 48 Flybridge

About this yacht

The Solaris Power Yachts 48 Flybridge represents a compelling evolution in semi-displacement motor yacht design. Built since 2020, this 14.86-meter powerboat accommodates up to 12 guests and draws just 0.75 meters, making her equally capable in shallow anchorages and open water. With a top speed of 35 knots and CE (B) certification for offshore passages up to 200 nautical miles from shore, she strikes an impressive balance between performance and range. Designed by Brunello Acampora's Victory Design studio, the 48 Flybridge follows the yard's philosophy that boats should be made to be used, not simply admired. This approach becomes immediately apparent in challenging conditions. Where many flybridge motor yachts struggle in rough seas—delivering that unsettling fairground bumper car sensation of sudden stops and jarring impacts—the Solaris Power 48 remains remarkably composed. Her deep-V hull cuts through waves rather than jumping over them, maintaining steady progress even when taking seas head-on at 20 to 25 knots. The boat simply doesn't behave like a 15-tonne, 14-meter flybridge cruiser should in these conditions, which is precisely the point. Power comes from twin Volvo D6 engines with IPS 650 pod drives, each delivering 480 horsepower. The configuration proves well-matched to the hull: she reaches planing speed in nine seconds and achieves maximum velocity in 28 seconds. Minimum planing begins just above 14 knots while consuming 72 liters per hour, rising to 187 liters per hour at the GPS-verified top speed of 30.5 knots. This fifteen-knot range between minimum planing and maximum speed gives owners flexibility to choose their preferred cruising tempo without sacrificing efficiency. Both helm positions—the primary station on the flybridge and the interior position below—offer excellent visibility and thoughtful ergonomics. The helmsman's seats are properly positioned relative to the dashboards, with all controls within easy reach. The GRP hull construction ensures durability while keeping weight manageable, contributing to the yacht's impressive sea-keeping abilities. The Solaris Power Yachts 48 Flybridge stands as a practical choice for owners who value genuine offshore capability over superficial luxury, delivering the kind of real-world performance that transforms ambitious cruising plans into achievable adventures.
