Broadblue Catamarans Yachts

British builder of cruising and performance sailing catamarans.

Broadblue Catamarans is a British catamaran builder based at Thornham Marina in Emsworth, on England’s south coast. The brand presents the company’s work through two complementary lines: Broadblue cruising catamarans and Rapier performance catamarans.

The cruising range currently shown by Broadblue comprises the 346, 385 and 425. The Rapier range is presented separately and includes the Rapier 400 and Rapier 550.

Broadblue places cruising catamarans and performance catamarans under one builder, allowing an owner to compare layouts and sailing character across two clearly named families.

Broadblue distinguishes its cruising catamarans from the Rapier performance line. The 346, 385 and 425 sit on the cruising side, while Rapier 400 and 550 are presented with a different sailing emphasis.

The choice turns on how the owner wants to balance passage pace with accommodation and ease of handling. Deck controls, guest space and storage should be assessed with the actual sailing crew in mind, because a performance-led multihull and a cruising-led one may serve the same route very differently. The cruising and Rapier lines reward separate sea trials because their cockpit and sailing priorities are not identical.
