Cantiere Delle Marche Explorer Yachts
Italian builder of steel and aluminium long-range explorer yachts.
Cantiere delle Marche, commonly abbreviated as CDM, is an Italian builder focused on long-range explorer yachts. The brand describes the yard’s yachts as being built in steel and aluminium and presents a current portfolio across the Darwin, Deep Blue, Flexplorer and RJ families, alongside RAW and one-off projects.
The brand shows that the families sit within one explorer-yacht programme, but it does not make every feature common to every hull.
The Darwin line is one example of this approach. CDM’s current Darwin 86 page identifies a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and Hydro Tec design for that model. Those particulars provide context for the builder’s stated steel-and-aluminium focus, but are not a substitute for specifications of another CDM yacht. Similarly, the site’s references to custom and one-off work show that the portfolio includes projects whose configuration cannot be reduced to a standard series description.
Cantiere delle Marche builds explorer yachts in steel and aluminium, with Darwin, Deep Blue, Flexplorer and RJ among its published families. Each expresses the long-range brief differently, and one-off projects broaden the possible arrangements further.
For an owner, the central exercise is to specify passage length, destinations, crew, tenders and specialist equipment. Those requirements determine the needed autonomy and usable volume; construction material and family name then become parts of a project-level comparison, not shorthand for identical capability.
