Dutch explorer yachts and purpose-built conversion projects.

ICON Yachts is a Dutch shipyard in Harlingen specialising in large explorer yachts, purpose vessels and complex conversion projects. Its work is organised around exploration, sustainability and philanthropy, with facilities located close to open North Sea access for construction, refit and conversion programmes.

ICON's Harlingen yard develops large explorer and purpose-led projects, including complex conversions. The MISSION-L and MISSION-M concepts belong to a portfolio shaped around individual itineraries and specialist uses rather than a conventional model ladder.

An owner should start with mission, payload, crew and the facilities needed to support time away. Range, equipment and flexible spaces can then be designed or assessed against that brief; the project's stage and exact specification matter more than a generic explorer label. A conversion also demands a different examination of existing structure and systems from a new build, even when both target exploration.

The LYRA catalogue includes MISSION-L and MISSION-M. These projects belong to ICON’s purpose-led explorer portfolio, where range, specialist equipment and adaptable spaces are developed around demanding itineraries and owner objectives.
