Mangusta Yachts

Italian luxury yachts in the Maxi Open, GranSport and Oceano ranges.

Mangusta is the Italian yacht brand of Overmarine Group, founded in 1985 by the Balducci family. The builder’s current range is organised in three clearly different lines. Maxi Open consists of high-performance open yachts; GranSport brings together fast-displacement projects; and Oceano covers long-range displacement yachts.

Mangusta’s Italian production sites are located in Tuscany near Massa, Viareggio and Pisa. Its history shows how the brand evolved from open sport yachts into a portfolio that also includes fast-displacement and displacement designs.

Mangusta's three lines answer markedly different briefs. Maxi Open is performance-led, GranSport uses fast-displacement projects and Oceano is oriented toward long-range displacement cruising; those design choices carry consequences for pace and life aboard.

A buyer should begin with the intended voyage and expected time at anchor before choosing a line. Only then should size, propulsion, fuel capacity, guest arrangement and deck protection be compared on individual yachts. An open Mangusta and an Oceano may share a builder but not the same ownership routine.
