Oyster Yachts
British blue-water sailing yachts for owner-operated and crewed long-distance cruising.
Oyster Yachts is a British builder of blue-water sailing yachts. Its current presentation describes a fleet designed for long-distance cruising, with models spanning roughly 50 to 90 feet and a mix of owner-operated and crewed use. The current portfolio includes the 495, 565, 595, 675, 745, 805 and 885 Series II, alongside centreboard variants on selected models. The model naming, equipment and available variants are maintained by the shipyard and can evolve with a new series or build programme.
The Oyster 565 and 595 now have Series II versions, a distinction that matters when comparing a current build with an earlier yacht of the same model number.
Its brand material also describes brokerage, after-sales services and an Oyster World Rally, but these programmes are separate services and subject to current terms.
Oyster's bluewater fleet spans owner-operated and crewed sailing yachts, with centreboard variants on selected models. The 495 and 885 Series II clearly answer different ownership programmes even while sharing a long-distance orientation.
The buyer should determine the intended crew, routes and time aboard before comparing sizes. Sail controls, protection, accommodation and, where offered, centreboard use will show which Oyster platform can support the planned voyages without imposing an unnecessarily complex operating model. Where a centreboard variant is considered, the intended shallow-water access and its maintenance should be weighed against the fixed-keel alternative.
