Bowsprit

A spar projecting from the bow to carry a headsail.

How to sign

Use Dominant 1-hand or flat-B, pointing forward. The base or passive hand is Non-dominant horizontal flat-B: boat base. Set the boat. Start at the bow endpoint. Extend straight forward along the boat axis, away from the signer. Hold the forward projection briefly as the bowsprit. Establish the bow. Extend a 1-hand or flat-B hand straight forward from it, away from the signer, to show the projecting spar.
