Retract bowsprit

Bring a retractable bowsprit back into the boat.

How to sign

Use Dominant hand retains the established bowsprit handshape. The base or passive hand is Non-dominant horizontal flat-B: boat base. Begin with the bowsprit fully extended from the bow. Pull the same handshape straight back along the boat axis into the bow. Stop when the projection is inside or flush with the bow; keep the boat base. Sign the bowsprit construction, then use the same forward handshape to pull straight back into the established bow. The reverse movement distinguishes it from installation.
