Slipped reef knot

A quick-release knot used to reef or temporarily shorten a sail.

How to sign

Use Both hands form KNOT; dominant hand holds the release bight. The base or passive hand is Established reefed-sail and rope locus. Start with a visible bight inside the knot at the reefed-sail rope location. Pull the bight free in one quick outward release. End with the bight open and the knot released. Establish the reefed sail and rope. Form a KNOT with a visible bight, then show the bight pulled free in one quick outward release.
