Boreal Boréal 56
About this yacht
The Boréal 56 represents a thoughtful evolution in bluewater cruising design, building upon the proven foundations of the Boréal 52, 55, and 55 OC while incorporating refinements developed for the flagship Boréal 70. At 17.12 meters, this performance cruiser delivers the space and comfort demanded by serious offshore sailors without compromising the core principles that define the Boréal concept. Designer JF Delvoye has crafted a new hull that enhances both livability and sailing characteristics. The cockpit layout centers around dual steering columns that offer remarkable versatility—helmsmen can sit comfortably behind the wheels, stand with support when the boat heels, or adopt a sideways position with the helm between the legs. This dedicated navigation zone remains completely separate from the relaxation area, allowing crew to move freely while maintaining the helmsman's essential sightlines. True to Boréal's design philosophy, the anchor remains visible from any helm position, while the forward placement of the steering columns enhances both safety and maneuverability. The deck saloon provides exceptional panoramic views and seamless integration between interior and exterior spaces. The cockpit's living area has been significantly expanded, with a relocated starboard door creating an unobstructed pathway from the salon through to the fold-down bathing platform. This generous platform offers effortless water access, while the expansive sunbathing area aft of the helm stations conceals substantial storage beneath. The signature doghouse remains, complete with seating for two and practical gear stowage. This sailing yacht is purpose-built for extended offshore passages, combining intelligent ergonomics with the robust construction and thoughtful details that make long-distance cruising both comfortable and secure.
