A clearer view of yachting: the latest from LYRA

← Back to Press

New ways to understand builders, explore ownership questions and compare themed yacht selections are now joined by a Simplified Chinese version of LYRA.

A yacht can catch your attention in a moment. Understanding whether it belongs in your life takes longer. The builder behind it, the way you intend to use it and the responsibilities that follow the purchase all deserve more than a specification sheet.

Over the past month, we have been making that wider picture easier to explore at LYRA. New shipyard profiles, an Insights section and thematic Selections sit alongside our yacht catalogue, giving buyers, owners and the people supporting them more room to understand before they decide.

Get to know the shipyard behind the yacht

A model makes more sense when you know the company that builds it. Our shipyard profiles bring that context into the yacht search, helping readers get acquainted with a builder and explore its models without treating each yacht as an isolated listing.

The aim is not to replace a visit to the yard or a conversation about a particular specification. It is to make those conversations better informed. A reader can move from a profile such as Sunreef Yachts to the yachts it builds, compare what interests them and arrive with more useful questions. For a personal assistant or family office researching on someone else's behalf, it also creates a clearer starting point for a brief.

Insights for the decisions around ownership

Our new Insights section brings practical guidance together for future yacht owners, current owners and the people advising them. It connects the initial search with questions that continue long after delivery: how to read a specification, weigh different yacht concepts, think about operating costs and recognise the decisions that can create avoidable risk.

For someone buying a first yacht, that means a clearer understanding of how the choices on a specification sheet relate to time on board. A current owner considering a different type of yacht can explore what that change might mean for use, comfort and the organisation of ownership. The articles help readers identify the questions that matter to their own plans and take them into a more focused conversation.

Personal assistants can use Insights to turn an owner's preferences into a clearer brief. Multi-family offices and advisors can use it to build a shared understanding of the owner's priorities, organise the questions around a purchase or ongoing ownership and prepare for discussions with the relevant specialists. We will continue adding articles as the section develops.

Selections built around a shared purpose

Our new Selections section brings yachts together around a theme, intended use or key characteristic. Readers can explore collections by price, yacht type or country of build, including motor yachts, sailing yachts and catamarans. Other themes bring together options for a first yacht, a floating home, light day cruising or a night or two away.

Bringing these models onto one page gives readers with a similar request a useful set of options to consider together. A selection's theme provides a starting point for comparison, while each yacht's layout, dimensions and individual characteristics help determine how it fits a particular owner. A more personalised approach to exploring the catalogue is one direction for the section's further development.

LYRA is now available in Simplified Chinese

A Simplified Chinese version of LYRA is now available. It gives Chinese-speaking readers another way into the platform as they explore yacht ownership and the questions around it. Alongside the new shipyard profiles and Insights section, this language addition makes LYRA more accessible to the people using it to understand their options.

More understanding before the next decision

The common thread is simple: a better yacht decision starts with a better understanding of the choices. A shipyard profile adds context, an Insight can reveal a question worth asking, and a curated selection brings models with a shared purpose or key characteristic together on one page. Together, these additions make LYRA a more useful place to begin a search and to return to as ownership plans evolve.
